John Fidoe

John joined Cognosis in June 2010 and is currently working with clients in the drinks industry developing Brand and Portfolio strategies.  Before Cognosis, he worked for RSA (that’s Insurance, not the Royal Society of Arts or the Republic of South Africa) and prior to that Accenture.  He has a wide range of experience in Corporate Strategy and Marketing roles, from building country and regional growth strategies in the Baltics to developing new small business propositions in Canada and rolling out Customer Segmentation models across Eastern Europe. 

John has a degree in Social and Political Sciences from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where he also played in the U21s Rugby Varsity Match at Twickenham – the highlight of his now declining rugby career!  In his spare time, John enjoys trying out new sports and in the past few years has tried out Kalaripayattu (a Keralan martial art), Rugby League, Bikram Yoga and white collar boxing – all with enthusiasm if not huge levels of skill.  John’s love of eating has also lead to him developing a passion for cooking and spends much of his free time either planning his next meal, or preparing it. 

Most likely to say: “Yeah, I had a quiet one too.  15 people round for dinner on Friday, gym class Saturday morning, quick wedding reception over lunch before playing a rugby match in the evening. Kind of a lazy weekend really.”

Least likely to say: “Lou, would you mind not chatting to me today, I need to do some work.”
